Google I/O 2024 – the annual development conference event of the Mountain View company Google has started and the company has announced some interesting things for Android devices. The company will be offering new AI features for Android devices and the same will be available in the coming months. The AI features will rely on-device processing. The company is actually upgrading its Circle to Search and the company’s visual lookup feature is currently available only on the selected Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones. The new capability will enable students to ask for help with the homework. The new feature is actually using the power of LearnLM technology that will enable you to circle a prompt to solve “problems involving symbolic formulas, diagrams, graphs and more”. This new feature is believed to be available later this year.
Google has also announced that the Gemini AI model is also getting upgrades and the same will be offering information about YouTube videos, you can able to add AI generated images quickly to Gmail and Messages. The Gemini Advanced will be answering from PDF documents without scrolling through multiple pages and that is mainly because of the new “Ask this PDF” option.
The Google Pixel smartphones also receive support for Gemini Nano with Multimodality and the same is for on-device AI processing. The Google Pixel phones will be capable to process contextual information including visuals, audio, and even spoken information.
Google is also bringing the power of AI in the dialler and it will be getting the capability to detect a potential scam call. The feature works on-device to protect user privacy. We don’t have any idea about the availability of this particular feature.
Google is enhancing the Google TalkBack which is the accessibility feature on Android smartphones and the same is getting the power of Gemini Nano’s multimodal features. It will enable visually impaired users to get more detailed information about images. It will also work on-device as well.
