AnTuTu is a benchmarking app that helps users to compare and identify how capable a smartphone is. Almost all reviews cover the AnTuTu score and mention it as a performance parameter.
Last week All apps from the team, including AnTuTu 3D Bench, AnTuTu Benchmark, and Benchmark for AI, were removed from the Play Store. Google has not stated the reason for this course of action, but many believe this move is in connection with the developer Cheetah Mobile.
Following the ban, Zhao Chen, the CEO of AnTuTu, has responded via email that Cheetah Mobile is only a shareholder in AnTuTu since 2014 and thus has no direct connection with the developer. Chen stated that the ban is a misunderstanding because of the Privacy Policy link is using a Cheetah Mobile address at cmcm.com.
Oddly the chairman of Mobiles is also on the Board of Directors at AnTuTu, but the company said this has no effect or influence on AnTuTu. But just a requirement by the investors in the company. AnTuTu is actively working with Google to resolve the issue and get the app back on the Play Store as quickly as possible.
Users who wish to download the app can head to their website here, where you can find the apk suitable for your device.
