At the Apple’s WWDC Keynote Event, Apple has launched the watchOS 4, successor to last year’s watchOS 3. They have implemented many new features such as new watchfaces, new UI for music app & many fitness related integration. So let’s have a look at all those changes.
1. Music App’s New UI:
Apple has redesigned the Music app in watchOS 4. There are some UI changes as well as they have added auto-sync option that can synchronise all music into the Apple Watch from iTunes that you choose from your phone automatically. You don’t have to manually sync all songs every time you add a new song to your iTunes. Also there’s a new option through which the watch will automatically select & play songs which will be suitable in best way while doing particular task like workout, sports, cooking and travelling.
2. New Watchfaces:
There are total of three new watchfaces in watchOS 4 : Siri, Kaleidoscope, and Toy Story. As you can see from the image above, the Siri watchface shows your daily schedule & routine tasks like meeting, weather, reminder and To-dos. Also it works with third party apps & Siri’s AI system to automatically learn our daily routine on our Apple devices & later it reminds us about that task. Like if you listen music while coming back home from workplace, it will automatically detect it based on GPS & time habits and then reminds you to play some music.
In the Kaleidoscope watchface, you have to select any 1 photo from your phone and it will make a Kaleidoscopic effect from that photograph. & Last but not least, in the Toy Story watchface, three famous character of Toy Story series (Woody, Jessy, Buzz) shows the time & information in an animated as well as in funny way.
3. Fitness Integrations:
Apple has focused on Fitness this time a lot. Now they have a new interface fir their workout app which will have tap & go functionality that includes swimming support and auto generated goals like running of 2kms daily and total 10,000 steps in a particular time limit.
They also added a new synchronise feature between the smartwatch and Gym equipment for quicker statistics & more accuracy. Apple is partnering with many famous Gym companies like Cyber, Matrix, TechnoGym, LifeFitness and Schwinn, to make us of this sync feature. This feature works with all Apple Smartwatches that has NFC.
So that’s all the new features & changes that comes with this new OS. This watchOS 4 update will be available to all compatible Apple watches in this fall. It will support iPhone 5s or above running iOS 11. Stay tuned with us for more information.
