Along with several announcements the at WWDC 2019 Developer Conference, Apple has announced a new feature called Sidecar for the new MacOS Catalina which is named after a Southern California Island. The new feature will help users to convert the iPad as the secondary display or as the input device.
With the new feature users can able to convert their iPad into a secondary Mac display and as I mentioned above the feature will also help users to you use it as an input device in certain applications like Adobe Illustrator. The feature will utilize the power of wireless and use up to 10-meter range which gives more freedom to every user and the Apple Pencil will help to use the iPad as an input device in the creative applications.
The Sidecar will also give a sidebar for commonly used controls, be it modifier keys for shortcuts, or buttons to hide the menu bar, dock, and keyboard. And the Touch Bar controls will be displayed at the bottom of the iPad screen when using Sidecar, even if your Mac doesn’t have a Touch Bar.
Speaking about the availability, Sidecar will be available on Mac devices which can upgrade to the newly-announced macOS Catalina, and that will be released in the autumn as a free update. All Mac computers introduced in mid-2012 or later will get Catalina, and the OS also replaces the iTunes on the Mac with three new apps, bringing voice control for added accessibility, and introducing Screen Time among other new features.
