After a lot of wait & rumours, Apple has finally announced their new set of MacBook Pro with latest M1 chips. There are two models i.e. 14-inch and 16-inch. Both got a design overhaul and good specs bump as well. So without any further ado, let’s see the 2021 MacBook Pro line-up.
Performance:

Both MacBook Pro will have options of Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, launched today itself. These new processors are supposed to give a big jump into the CPU as well as GPU cores. M1 Pro is supposed to be for heavy duty users and M1 Max is a proper workstation CPU. The RAM support is bumped up to 64GB (M1 Max) and 32GB (M1 Pro). Storage is up to 8TB SSD with up to 7.4GB/s read speed.
Display:

The exact display size of both MacBook Pro is 14.2-inches and 16.2-inches. 14-inch model has 3024×1964 resolution whereas 16-inch model has 3456×2234 resolution. Both are IPS LCD panels with mini LED technology. That means there are 10,000 mini LEDs for precise blacks and contrast even on LCD display, just like OLED. Both have ProMotion support i.e. 120Hz refresh rate.
Design:
The design also got a change, but it’s something like “Going back to roots”. The curved edge design from older generations of MacBook is back here, which might make it comfortable to carry for some. The keyboard layout has an all black colour with Touch Bar totally ditched and replaced with full sized physical keys. Apple has also bought notches on a laptop. Both new MacBook Pro has notch above the display for the 1080p FaceTime cam. It’s there to make the bezels slimmer.
Other Features:

There are 6 speakers built in on both MacBook Pro. 2 of them are main speakers whereas 4 are subwoofers. And these supports the new Spacial Audio for Dolby Atmos. There are 3 Thunderbolt Type-C ports, 1 HDMI port, and 1 Card Reader port. MagSafe charging is also back for a fast 140W charging support.
Pricing & Availability:
- MacBook Pro 14-inch starts at $1,999 & ₹1,94,900
- MacBook Pro 16-inch starts at $2,499 & ₹2,39,900
- Pre-orders have begin today on Apple website.
So that’s the MacBook Pro series of 2021. Being a creator I know that it’s a dream machine for content creation, and the addition of things like HDMI & SD Card ports, mini LED display, and this huge bump in the performance is a big upgrade from previous gens with 9th Gen Intel processors.
