Blackberry already stopped manufacturing it’s own Smartphones and has licensed the manufacturing to its partners. This was the first phase and they have already started the second phase of licensing the software as well.
Blackberry is in talks with global manufacturers to license it’s secure version to other manufacturers. This Android version by Blackberry is known as ‘Blackberry Secure’.
Blackberry’s version of Android uses DTEK security suite and is much more secure than what we get to see in other Android devices. They also release security patches monthly.
For now blackberry has already an agreement with Optiemus in India for Blackberry Secure, the company which launched the KEYOne Limited Edition Black in India last month. Blackberry has also partnered with BB Merah Putih for Indonesian market and TCL for rest of the markets.
