Just two days ago, we updated that the tech giant Microsoft will roll out its latest Windows 10 April 2018 update on April, 30 i.e. today. Now the company has started to roll out the update and users can able to download it manually, the wide rollout will start in next month.
Having said that, the update was originally to be called the “Spring Creators Update” and this is Windows 10 version “1803”, and it launches today. So, without any delay let’s check out what’s Microsoft has stored for us in the brand-new update.
The Timeline is the new major feature in the latest Windows 10 April 2018 update. It actually replaces the old ‘Task View’ button and the new Timeline will allow the user to see what apps are running and also activities you have used on the PC in the last 30 days of time period. And it will sync all the activities and apps across multiple PC’s, if you using a laptop for a document then you can easily pick up the same thing on a different PC which you already signed-in with your account.
Moreover, Microsoft also allows a user to combine the new Timeline with the Microsoft Edge Browser for the Android and IOS, which will allow the user to access the browsing history of the smartphone on the PC. The company is also updating its mobile apps to give support for this feature. Well, if you are concerned about the privacy then fear not. As the company disables the device sync feature by default and you can also disable the activity history by heading to the Settings > Privacy > Activity History.
The Nearby Sharing feature is similar to the AirDrop feature by Apple, and it will not come handy for the daily basis but it is a really needful feature on the platform. As it will allow you to share photos, websites, or even documents to the nearby Windows 10 devices. This feature will solve your sharing task in a lightning fast speed, for example; if you are in office and you want to share a particular document to your colleagues then you can simply use this feature and it will share the document to your co-worker in a blink and it will obviously faster than an email. The feature will be disabled by default, and you can able to set it to only receive files from all devices or from everyone who is nearby.
Quick Bluetooth Pairing
Well, this is going to be the most useful feature in the latest Windows 10 update. As it will allow you to pair a Bluetooth device very quickly to connect to the Windows 10 PC. Right now, the feature is supporting the Surface Precision Mouse but the company is working with Logitech and other brands to ensure additional hardware to support this quick way to pair the Bluetooth.
Improvements In Microsoft Edge
With the Windows 10 April 2018 update, Microsoft has improved the Edge Browser and it has added the muting tab feature into the browser, which will allow you to mute loud and annoying website and browse with the peace of mind. This feature is similar to the chrome’s recently added tab muting feature. Not only this, the company has also updated the browser in performance and design. And now it is all set to compete with the Google Chrome and attracts people to use the Edge Browser as the default.

This feature is really made in love, as it will now make the update installation faster. Till now, we need to see the screen and wait for the installation completes, (when you reboot the system) but now things will be done faster. Another advantage of this feature is it will now not slow down the PC for the background update, and now it will run faster and we can use the system without any lag.
Well, the Dictation is not the new stuff on the Microsoft’s Windows but with the latest Windows 10 update the company has made things easier to access the built-in dictation tool. Now users can access the dictation tool by pressing Windows key + H on the keyboard and it will allow you to dictate into any application, but you need a good mic for this purpose.

Microsoft presented the do-not-disturb mode for Windows 10 users, and it was known as Quiet Hours as well. The Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana will make things easier for you with the new organizer interface, and now it easy to view your lists and reminders. If the user has the Spotify app and signed into Spotify under > Notebook manage skills then you can use Cortana to control the application. With the latest update, the ability of Cortana’s web search cannot be disabled via group policy on Windows 10 Professional, as it is now limited to the Windows 10 Enterprise and Education users.
Manage Fonts In Settings
Finally, Microsoft is changing the setup of managing and installing a new font on the computer. Now with the latest update, you can manage and install fonts in the settings by heading to Personalization > Fonts, and from here you can view, install and, uninstall fonts. Moreover, fonts are now available in the Microsoft Store which means now you can get the new fonts into your PC with more comfort. Apart from this, you can choose a font of your own handwriting by converting it the font. You can do this from Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink > Change the font of the handwriting experience.
No Password To Login
You can now log in to your PC without the password, as the Microsoft now allows its users to sign into the PC without entering a password. But for the users who use the Windows 10 in S Mode, you can download the Microsoft Authenticator app for your Android device or iPhone and set up Windows Hello and enter into the PC without any password.
The Settings > Network & Internet > Data Usage will now allow a user to set data limits, and in this way, we can restrict background data. It also shows the data usage on Wi-Fi, wired Ethernet connections, and cellular data connections. You can right-click the “Data usage” tab on the Settings and select “Pin to Start” to see the data usage as a live tile.
Improvements In Gaming & Xbox Game Bar
Game lovers can also smile for the latest Windows 10 April 2018 update, as the developers of Microsoft has focused the gaming section of the operating system. Now it will allow you to customize graphics performance per game, and also allow the user to set games to high performance or power saving mode. In this way, users will get more from the game. The new feature is available in graphics settings in the main setting app of the operating system. The tech giant has also redesigned the Xbox game bar and now it has the white or black theme.
Other Notable Features
Progressive Web Apps: The Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) on Windows 10 is basically a new standard for web apps and it will behave like desktop apps. Each app will get its own window and taskbar shortcut and it can run offline and can send notifications. Google, Mozilla, and Microsoft are all supporting PWAs, and even Apple is adding some support for this kind of technology.

My People: My People now supports drag and drop, which means now you can drag and drop contacts in the My People popup to reprioritize them or drag and drop the people icons on your taskbar.
HDR Video: The tech giant is now expanding the HDR video support to more devices. We know new devices have the ability to play HDR video, but were not calibrated for it in the factory. To check whether your device can play HDR video, head to Settings > Apps > Video playback. If you can set the “Stream HDR video” option to On, then your device is capable of playing HDR video.
Language Pack: The company has started using Artificial Intelligence and machine learning for the translation and the language packs are delivered via with Microsoft store means they can be updated with improvements frequently. You can install them by heading to the Windows Store or use the Settings > Time & Language > Region and language screen.
HomeGroup Is No More: With the latest update, Microsoft has disabled the HomeGroup feature in the home network and now the company wants its users to use the OneDrive file sharing.
Support For HEIF Image: With the latest update, the operating system now supports viewing images in the High Efficiency Image Format without any third-party software.
Password Recovery for Local Accounts: Now you can set security questions for the local user accounts, and answer these questions from the sign-in screen to regain access. You can set security questions, by heading to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options > Update your security questions.
