We all are familiar with the fraudulent and security issues with the mobile numbers, many people use fake ID numbers for unwanted activities. And to seal the security problem in that sector, Government of the India came up with a new verification process of SIM card, and existing mobile users have to go through the process to verify that they are using the SIM card.
According to source, Supreme court issued an order to the Department of Telecommunication which has mandated a fresh verification process and it is to be based on the Aadhaar card. It is also said that, the Department has already issued notice to the telecom operators to initiate re-verification process of the existing users. And the Department has also set deadline of February 6, 2018 to complete the re-verification process.
To make things easy and fast, the department has initiated e-KYC process. The operator will send a verification code, and the user will be need to produce Aadhaar number and biometric verification. On the other hand, the telecom operator is also need to verify that the SIM card is physically available with the user at the time of re-verification process. And the user has also confirm the re verification of the 24 hours.
