Back in last month, Mozilla implemented a new feature in the popular Firefox browser and that is called Firefox Send that allows users to transfer files. Well, now the company announces new security features in the browser.
The developers of the Firefox has added features like blocking crypto mining and fingerprinting, which work pretty much like anti-tracking blocks in the current version of Firefox. The company has joined its hands with Disconnect to include scripts which will prevent the browser from loading disingenuous content.
Having said that, the new crypto mining and fingerprinting blocks features will be disabled by default but Mozilla says that these settings will be turned on by default in future versions of Firefox 68.
How to enable these new features manually?
- Head to browser setting and select “Privacy & Security”.
- Then go to “Content Blocking” and then “Custom”.
- Now select the checkbox of both “Cryptominers” and “Fingerprinters” to enable them.
Well, really great addition by the company because these days we don’t know what is going behind various websites which we open on our browser and with these kinds of security features, we can able to protect our device. We expect other browsers like Google Chrome will also adopt the same setup.
