Just yesterday, the popular chipset maker Qualcomm announced the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor but the company did not reveal the specification details of the same. Qualcomm has made the Snapdragon 865 processor more efficient than the Snapdragon 855, as the latest processor promises to provide 25% faster CPU power efficiency along with 20% faster graphics. The company succeeds to gain CPU by using the ARM Cortex-A77 performance cores.
The new chipset also comes with the support of the Adreno 650 GPU, and the same support QHD+ 144Hz screens (or UHD 60Hz). It will also support the Spectra 480 ISP and supports up to 200 MP primary cameras (or 64 MP with zero shutter lag), or up to 25 MP dual sensors, 4K HDR @60fps video, or 8K @ 30 fps, as well as unlimited capture of 720p video at 960fps.
Another highlight of the latest processor is the next generation telecommunications chip i.e. 5G, as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 comes with X55 modem and it is capable to offer both the 4G as well as 5G connectivity. Theory wise, it can offer the maximum download speeds of 7.5Gbps on 5G and 2.5Gbps on 4G. That’s not all, the same also supports both standalone and non-standalone 5G networks, as well as both sub-6 and mmWave developments.
For connectivity, the new chip supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, aptX TWS, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Voice. The chip also developed with Hexagon 698 and Tensor accelerator and that will offer a 5th gen AI engine that doubles the performance of its predecessor.
Furthermore, the company has also announced that the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processors will support Android Identity Credential API and this will allow the next generation Android operating system i.e. Android R to support a virtual driver license or identification document. This will also make a way to create a secure framework for storing personal and important documents.
