Recently, we witnessed a very unimaginable flood in the southern part of India, where the monster waves of water took many lives and many lost their homes as well as the earnings which they end in their lifetime. Well, such kind of situations is just beyond the imagination and explanation. So, now the Mountain View company Google came forward to help the people of the country.
The search engine giant Google has launched AI-powered flood alerts in India and the feature uses computational power to give more accurate warnings of the flood, and in this way, the authorities can able to do the needful and also can shift the people from that affected area. Furthermore, it will also provide so many other information like historical events, water level readings, and the region’s topography.
Google also says that the new flood alerts will run “hundreds of thousands” of simulations for a location, and from these simulations, it’s able to gauge when and where a flood will occur, and the severity of the unwanted event. The company already started using technology in Patna, and the company is hoping to bring the same in other parts of the country as well, but we don’t have the timeline of the expansion.
Well, this is really good to know that the Google is utilizing all the possible ways of the technology to save the human lives and let’s hope that this technology will work and will not allow happening such type of unwanted events again.
