The heat of flagship smartphone launch is going to raise more & more in coming months, because most flagships like Galaxy S10 (US variant) and OnePlus 7 with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 processor will launch soon, in Q1 of 2019. Smartphones like Galaxy Note 10 and Google’s Pixel 4 will launch in Q3 of 2019. But seems like Google has some other plans. Instead of launching their flagship in Q3, they might do it sooner than expected or we might see different flagship series from Google. So let’s have a look.
A new Google device is spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. This device is codenamed as ‘Google Coral’. Interestingly this device runs on upcoming Android Q software. Apart from few leaks we haven’t heard of this Android Q, nothing is official as of now. There are few reports over the web which says that a device with same codename was already spotted on Geekbench a lot, but with Snapdragon 845 processor and Android Pie as well as Chromebook OS. So this Google Coral device might be nothing but just a alpha device to check upcoming hardware and software. This Geekbench listing also reveals that it has 6GB of RAM. It scored 3296 on single core and 9235 on multi cores.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. As of now, we can’t say that it’s an upcoming device or just an alpha testing device. But if this is an upcoming device, we expect to get some information about this with Pixel 3 Lite and 3 XL Lite’s launch. Well, what are your thoughts on this device? Do you think that it will be an upcoming smartphone or it’s just an alpha testing unit? Let us know in the comment section below. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
