Back in August last year, the Mountain View company announced its new Augmented Reality (AR) platform called ARCore. And later the company shut down its previous AR Platform called Project Tango, which was announced in 2014.
The ARCore until now was available to users via developer preview, but, now Google announced the roll-out of ARCore to all users and it is called ARCore 1.0. The all-new kit for development will allow developers to easily create rich AR experiences with the power of Google’s vision engine. With this platform, the company plans to bring Augmented Reality to 100 million devices by the end of March.
Moreover, it is already available on Google Play Store and it can be installed on the devices which run on Android Nougat. Well, it is really a great decision by Google as they did not restrict it to the latest version of Android i.e. Oreo 8.0, And the ARCore platform is Google’s answer to the Apple’s ARKit, and Google’s AR platform is more powerful than the Apple because ARCore platform does not require any special hardware.
The search engine giant also rolling out the new update to the Google Lens, and now the Lens can give you more information with the help of both AR and AI. Users can take a photo through the Lens just like the way you capture images through the camera and the Lens will give the complete information about the image.
