Google phone app updated with a great feature, now it will warn if spam callers calls you. The new warning feature comes with existing caller ID capability of the phone app. It maintains a directory of various departments and businesses, when you receive a call from that directory, then the colour of the screen will change in to red colour and it will warn that the number is belongs to a ‘suspected spam caller’.

The Google phone app will also allow you to block the number and report the number as a spammer. If you accidentally marked or reported a number as a spammer, don’t worry it can be edited by tapping on the call in call logs and choose Not Spam. But the registered (telecallers) numbers will not be blocked.

If you want to disable or enable this feature, launch the dialer app and tap on the three dots and look for ‘Caller ID and Spam Protection’ just toggle it.
To get this feature all you have to update the phone app to version 4.0. Currently this feature is available only for the Nexus device and Android One handsets and device system must be updated to marshmallow. Let’s hope Google will open up this feature to other devices.
