Google Pixelbook Unveiled At 'Made By Google' Event Along With Pixelbook Pen

We all know that at the ‘Made by Google’ event, Google launched their flagship smartphones Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. But Google also launched several other products at the event held in San Francisco. One of those product is Google’s own laptop “Google Pixelbook”, by launching the product the ends all the rumors. It is the First laptop in Pixel series and it packs some premium specs. So let’s have a look at them.


This Pixelbook is a very thin & lightweight laptop in the market, and it is thinnest & lightest laptop made by Google. It is 10.3mm thin and has a weight of 1.1kg . This laptop is a portable laptop as it is fully rotatable laptop, so it can be used as a tablet also. The display here is 12.3” Quad HD display. There are two different processor options; Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7, the generation of both processors is still unknown. The RAM goes upto 16GB and SSD upto 512GB. The battery life claimed here is upto 10 hours and it has fast charging support via USB Type C Port.


This Pixelbook runs on Google’s own Chrome OS, which has android’s Play Store and supports all popular Android apps and games. As we know that Google is concentrating a lot on machine learning technologies from past 1-2 years, this Pixelbook is 1st laptop to have Google Assistant built-in. Just say ‘OK Google’ and it will work same as what we have seen in Android devices. Google is also selling Pixelbook Pen separately, which gets very handy for productivity use. Talking about the pricing and availability, below are the details:


  • This Pixelbook’s price starts at $999 (INR 65,000) in USA.
  • It will be available in three different configuration variant.
  • The Pixelbook Pen is priced at $99 (INR 6,500).
  • Pre-orders for this phone is open now, shipping will start from 31st October.


So that’s all the information we have as of now. As of now we don’t know the GPU used in this Pixelbook, but most probably it will have Intel’s Integrated GPU. As it’s not at all a gaming laptop, it’s a portable laptop. And for the productivity usage, it seems to be a very good option. Let’s see whether it will be available in other countries or not.
