As we entered into a new month and as the month kicks-off, Google has released Android distribution chart for this month. So, let’s have a look into the numbers of the latest distribution chart.

Let’s Start with the latest version of Android i.e. Oreo, in last month the OS was at 0.3. Thanks to roll out of the OS by few manufacturers, this month the latest OS managed to continue its growth. As Android Oreo now has 0.5% share, and its great to see the new version increasing its share.
Moving to the Nougat (which is new and last major update for many devices), managed to strengthen its share (as v7.0 increased by 1.7% and v7.1 increased by 1.0%), and now it has total share of 23.3%.
Coming to the older versions, Android Marshmallow continuously going down this month its dropped by 1.2% and the OS is active on 29.7% devices, with this it has major share in the Android distribution. Speaking about the Lollipop, the numbers continuously going down, both the versions (v5.0 and v5.1) of Lollipop managed to secure its second spot with 26.3%. And I’m hoping that the Lollipop will lose its second spot by next month, Nougat will grab the title of second spot. In terms of Android KitKat, it also goes down and in this month it is active in total number of 13.4%.
Jelly Bean is active in 5.9% devices, Ice Cream Sandwich is active on 0.5% devices and the Gingerbread, loses 0.1% and it is active on 0.4%.
We know that many manufacturers will upgrade its devices to the latest version of Android, and next we going to have CES 2018 event where new smartphones going to unveil, with that the share of Android Oreo will jump. So, let’s hope that the new version of Android will increase its number in the next month of Android distribution chart.
