Google Releases Android Distribution Chart Of July 2018

After skipping in the month of June, today the search engine giant has released the latest number of Android shares. In the last distribution chart (in May), we saw that the latest version of Android i.e. Android Oreo strengthened its share in the Android distribution chart. Well, now in this latest update the new operating system of the Android has doubled its share in the chart. So, let’s dive into the article to know more about the latest distribution chart and statics of all the versions of Android.

Google Releases Android Distribution Chart Of July 2018

Let’s Start with the latest version of Android i.e. Oreo, in the previous report, the v8.0 of the OS was at the 4.9% share, and the v8.1 was at 0.8% share. But in the latest report, the new Android Oreo 8.0 has 10.1% share and the 8.1 version is installed in 2.0%. Well, the new version of Android has secured 12.1%. The growth is really great and happy to see, as the company and the manufacturer of smartphone rolling out the latest update in right time and also thanks to many new devices which are coming with the latest version of Android. However, the numbers must improve in a significant way, as we are close to the new Android P. It is expected that the company will launch the new version in late next month.

Moving to the Nougat (which is new and last major update for many devices), is slowly losing its numbers but the version is continuing its top position on the table, this month it has a total share of 30.8%.

Coming to the older versions, Android Marshmallow continuously going down and, in this month, its dropped by 2.0% and the OS is now active on 23.5% of devices. However, it is still the second in the Android distribution chart. Speaking about the Lollipop, the numbers continuously going down, both the versions (v5.0 and v5.1) of Lollipop and now it is active on 20.4%. In terms of Android KitKat, it also goes down by 1.2% and in this month, it is active in total number of 9.1%.

Talking about the Jelly Bean, it is also going down and now active in 3.6% devices, Ice Cream Sandwich remains on 0.3% devices and the Gingerbread, is active on 0.2%.

The new numbers are not that impressive, but it’s an awesome feeling because the new version of Android has doubled its share. I hope that in the next month the Android Oreo will hit on more devices and the numbers will rise.
