If you’re a fan of autoplay and think it is a time-saving feature, then probably you will be loving what we are going to say. Google is working on autoplay feature in Youtube which reportedly plays you videos without clicking them. This is definitely not a new feature considering several other apps like Facebook, Instagram is already using it for ages.
Videos automatically play when you scroll through the Home section, though there is no audio. To make up for the lack of sound, subtitles are overlaid to understand what is being said. You can play almost every video in your timeline as you scroll through, but only one video can be playable at a given time. This feature is supposed to save you some data as more number of videos sucking the data gets avoided.
However, you can go into YouTube app’s settings to turn autoplay videos off if you don’t want the feature. You also have the options to have the feature only work when connected to Wi-Fi in order to prevent your cellular data from being used up.
Since Google is passing out the update as batches you may or may not get it in the near future. That doesn’t mean all the users will eventually get the feature as Google keeps testing such features time to time.
