Google always test something new on their various platforms, and now in the latest testing is happening on the world’s most favourite video viewing platform – YouTube. As the company now testing the messaging and sharing features on the YouTube web.
The new experiment will add a new Sharing icon on the desktop version of the YouTube between the notifications bell icon and the apps button. Clicking on this will display the recent messages, and there’s also a Contacts tab which shows the existing and potential contacts.
Speaking about the user interface, you can message and share videos with your friends and other people, just like we do on the desktop version of the Facebook Messenger. Having said that, this is really a sensible move by the Mountain View company as people using the third-party application like Pushbullet to get the notification on desktop and mobile. So, with this feature, users can eliminate this and the cross-platform will encourage users to use the features.
Speaking about the availability, the update will roll out to the web version of YouTube today, but it may take a week or so to appear for everyone.
