HP officially unveiled the refreshment to the Omen 15 Gaming Laptop Series. The new gaming laptops have a new design and updated specifications to boot. These laptops are the first from the company to be powered by an AMD CPU. Let us take a look at the detailed specifications of the new lineup.
Starting with the CPU, the Omen 15 comes as the first-ever AMD Ryzen 7 4800H CPU laptop from the company. The laptop can also be configured with Core i7-10750H, from the house of Intel. In the graphics department, the Omen 15 supports up to NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super Max-Q GPU. The RAM configuration varies according to the CPU model. With the AMD version you get up to DDR4-3200 and the Intel CPU is paired with up to 32GB of DDR4-293 of RAM. The storage options can go all the way up to 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD. It can be configured in either a single stick or dual 512GB sticks in RAID 0 configuration.
The new Omen 15 has a 15.6-inch display. The screen supports up to 180-degree flexing flat hinge design. The resolution is clocked at 1080P. However, the other display specification can be chosen based on the resolution and type of the screen. The available options are the IPS LCD screen or OLED Screen. The refresh rate also varies between 120 Hz, 144Hz or 300Hz. The display offers NVIDIA G-SYNC on select configurations as well.
As part of the new design, the HP Omen 15 comes with a new diamond logo that has a blue-green gradient. The colour options include Mica Silver and Shadow Black. It also has an option per-key RGB backlight. According to the company, the new design offers improved thermals. It is made possible by an industry-first IR thermopile sensor for temperature monitoring. For ventilation, it occupies large vents. It has 12V fan along with venting on all three sides. The company promises a battery life of 12.5 hours without any gaming sessions. But the battery life will take a hit once gaming is brought into the equation. HP Omen 15 pricing starts at $999 and is now available for purchase.
