The Chinese brand Huawei has unveiled the MateBook 13 laptop at the series 2019 event, it is the company’s latest offering for the users who prefers to buy a mid-range laptop and the device comes with really superb design and specifications. Let’s have a look at the device to know more about it.
The all new MateBook 13 comes in two variants – One with an eighth-generation “Whiskey Lake-U” Intel Core i5-8265U four-core processor in a Mystic Silver finish, and one with an Intel Core i7-8565U four-core processor in a Space Gray design. In terms of graphics, the Core i5 model is on the Intel’s integrated UHD 620 GPU and the Core i7 model sports a discrete GeForce MX 150 graphics chip with 2 GB of dedicated video memory. The MateBook 13 sports 13 inch touch capable screen and the resolution of both the variants is 2,160 x 1,440 pixels. Moreover, Huawei implemented its own Shark Fin 2.0 cooling system with fans spinning up to 8,000RPM to keep the device cool.
Both the variants of the laptops is paired with 8 GB of RAM, and the Core i5 model has a single stick-shaped SSD with 256 GB of storage while the Core i7 model offers up to 512 GB. It also comes with two USB Type-C ports, along with the MateDock 2 adapter to expand the port complement. Both laptops also include a headphone/microphone combo port.
Furthermore, the MateBook 13 also has Wireless AC and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. It also features a 1MP camera, and Dolby Atmos sound. It ships on a 41.7WHr battery promising up to 10 hours of local Full HD video playback on the Core i7 model, and a fingerprint scanner built into the “one touch” power button.
That’s not all, the company has optimized BIOS and that enables the device to quickly start and wake up to authenticate the user and the company also says that the fingerprint information is saved on the computer itself instead of cloud and that also ensures great security.
Speaking about the pricing and availability of the Huawei MateBook 13, it is priced at $1,299 for the Core i7 model and the Core i5 model will be yours for $999. The device will be available in North America from January 29 and there is no information about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
