Today Huawei unveiled their own HarmonyOS, which will be their backup OS if USA will put ban on Huawei and they can’t use Google services anymore. At the event they did mentioned that as of now they will continue to use Android, as far as the situation is in control. So for Android based Huawei/Honor smartphones, they unveiled EMUI 10 custom UI.
EMUI is Huawei’s custom UI from years, and from beginning they improved it a lot. This new EMUI 10 will be based on Android Q. The interface and changes that this UI brings will be balanced with features of Android Q. The icons are more rounded this time, and there will be nee transition animations as well. The Dark Mode is improved with it and can be applied on to third party apps, we don’t know if they can implement it on every third party app or selected apps. Always on display is also improved with more clock styles.
Multi Screen Collaboration is a new feature in EMUI 10. This will cast your smartphone’s display on PC/Laptop display easily and wirelessly. And you can get control of your files from PC/Laptop itself. HiCar feature lets you control your car’s functions like music player, navigation, and AC as well. The new EROFS file system will enhance the CPU performance and GPU Turbo 3.0 will boost gaming performance. Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will be the first smartphones to have EMUI 10 out of the box.
