Back in last month, the social networking giant Facebook announced few new features at the for their various platforms at the annual developer’s event. The announcement also included the Instagram and said that the app will get the group video call feature along with the custom AR filters, new explore tab and more, Well, today the company officially rolling out new features to all the promised features.
Group Video Chat
Let’s start with the Group Video Chat, as the name suggests the feature allows you to have the video chat with your near and dear ones. The feature is available for both private and groups and the feature will support a maximum of 4 members in a chat. You can start the video chat by heading to the Direct and open the message thread and then you can able to see the camera icon at the top right corner, just tap on it and start chatting with your near and dear ones through video. Having said that, Instagram allows you to minimize the call window and allows you to use the Instagram application to check the latest updates on your Feed.
New Explore Tab
The developers of the application have updated the explore tab and now it has channels based on various topics such as travel, art, and many more. It will be available at the top in a tray in tile shape and it will show you posts which are related to that topic. Moreover, now you can able to see the related hashtags under the tray, and it will allow you to discover more posts and accounts. Apart from this, the section now has a ‘For You’ channel and it shows personalized posts based on the user’s interests. And if you dislike any channel, then the app allows to hide by long-pressing on it and tapping on the ‘Mute’ option.
Custom AR Filters
Well, this is feature is added in the Instagram Stories and the new batch of camera effects are designed by Ariana Grande, Buzzfeed, Liza Koshy, Baby Ariel, and the NBA. you can access to the new camera effects, by following any of those accounts.
