Following up the leaks for a lot of days, the sub-brand of Vivo has launched IQOO 8 series. This one is successor to the popular IQOO 7 series launched just few months back. The series consists of IQOO 8 and IQOO 8 Pro. Both are very similar to their predecessors with some changes in hardware. Now without further ado, let’s see what both smartphones pack inside.
IQOO 8 Pro:
Starting with the better one, the IQOO 8 Pro sports a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ 10-Bit OLED Display with Samsung E5 LTPO technology and 120Hz refresh rate. It has HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support with peak brightness of 1,500 nits. It comes with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset that’s built on 5nm process and has Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with 8+256GB and 12+256/512GB storage options. The RAM is LPDDR5 and has UFS 3.1 storage. This device runs on Android 11 with OriginOS on top.
Talking about camera, the IQOO 8 Pro has 50MP IMX766 primary sensor with f1.8 lens, PDAF, and 5-axis gimbal stabilization. Then there’s 48MP ultrawide angle sensor with f2.2 lens, Autofocus, and 114° POV. Lastly there’s 16MP telephoto sensor with f2.2 lens (optical zoom range not revealed). On the front it has a 16MP selfie shooter with f2.4 lens. The main camera can record videos up to 8K at 30fps, and the front camera up to just 1080p at 30fps.
It packs in a 4,500mAh battery with whopping 120W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. It has in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers. For connectivity, it has 5G. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and Type-C port. The IQOO 8 Pro comes in White color with BMW logo & a red/blue color strip, and Black color with carbon fiber finish. It weighs at 205 grams and is 9.2mm thick.

Now let’s have a look at the vanilla model. This IQOO 8 sports a smaller 6.56-inch Full HD+ 10-Bit OLED Display with 120Hz refresh rate. It has HDR10 support but lacks Dolby Vision. It comes with Snapdragon 888 5G chipset with Adreno 660 GPU. It has 8+128GB and 12+256GB storage options. This one also runs on Android 11 with OriginOS on top.
Moving on to the camera, this IQOO 8 also has a fully functional triple camera setup with toned down specs. The primary is 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor, a 13MP ultrawide sensor but with better 120° FOV, and 13MP telephoto sensor as well. On front it has the same 16MP shooter as Pro model. It can record videos up to 4K at 30fps.
This IQOO 8 is powered by slightly smaller 4,350mAh battery with same 120W wired charging, but has no wireless or reverse wireless charging. Other specs like in-display fingerprint, stereo speakers, and connectivity options are same as Pro. The White with BMW logo and Black with carbon fiber finish is also same, but it has two glass back models with Orange and White. It weighs at 200 grams and is 8.9mm thick.
