Soon after MediaTek unveiled their new chipset called Dimensity 1000+, IQOO wasted no time in revealing that they are working on a new phone with the chipset. This SoC from MediaTek seems to have a few head-turning tricks up its sleeves. Let us see what makes Dimensity 1000+ special.
The Dimensity 1000+ is an upgraded version of Dimensity 1000 from the company. The core hardware remains the same, but this chipset is enhancement aiming at gaming phones in particular. The D1000+ chipset supports 144 HZ screen at 1080P resolution, with an aspect ratio of 21:9. There is a dedicated ‘MiraEngine’ responsible for enhancing SDR video and upscaling it to HDR10+. It is based on 7nm architecture with 4 x Cortex-A77 cores and 4 x A55 cores. The GPU centric tasks are handled by Mali-G77 MP9 GPU. It supports LPDDR4X RAM modules too.
The chipset is designed to change gears to provide maximum connectivity, and when not in need, it switches to 5G UltraSave mode to reduce the power consumption of the modem. This dynamic mode of switching helps save energy by up to 32%. At maximum load, it aggregate two five sub-6 GHz links and as a result gives 4.7 Gbps downlink and 2.5 Gbps uplink speeds, with seamless switching between 5G and LTE. Another feature it supports is VoNR (Voice over New Radio) which was co-developed by Ericsson, MediaTek and Oppo.

There’s HyperEngine 2.0 responsible for scaling the frequencies of CPU and GPU. It can also manage wireless connectivity, both Bluetooth and 5G and RAM. The connectivity latency is lessened by “anti-jamming” to reduce interference, promising better gaming via Bluetooth Controllers and Wireless Headphone connectivity.
Even though IQOO promised a new phone with Dimensity 1000+ phone, we do not know more details about it at the moment. But we do expect the phone to support 144 Hz refresh rate and 5G connectivity.
