UPI has become an important payment mode in India since the demonetization and have a bunch of players in the market, now a new player has stepped into the market. As a new report suggests that Reliance Jio started to offer UPI services to its users through the MyJio app.
According to the report, Reliance Jio started to show the UPI payment option in the MyJio app and it is available for the selected users only, maybe the company is testing the new feature and it is appearing along with the existing options such as JioSaavn, JioCinema, and JioEngage among others.
The report says that the users who joined the service get a VPA with UPI handle @Jio, and also ask users to choose from their bank accounts which they want to link. Furthermore, the report also points out that the app asks users to enter the mobile number, debit card number attached with the bank account number for generating a UPI PIN which will be for future transactions.
