The Dubai-based siblings Jainam and Jivika are the owners of the jiohotstar.com domain and they were using the domain to help young developers. The siblings have announced that they are transferring the domain to Reliance for free of cost as an act of “Seva”.
It is worth mentioning that the siblings had purchased the domain from its previous owner who was a Delhi-based app developer and the developer had registered the domain last year when the rumour of $8.5 billion or ₹70,352 crore Reliance Jio and Disney Hotstar merger started.
After the merger was formally announced, it is reported that the developer asked Reliance for the funding of his higher studies at Cambridge University. In exchange for that fever, he will transfer the domain. However, Reliance refused the offer and their developer sold the domain to the Dubai based siblings.
Well, now the siblings announced that the Reliance IP legal team approached them and they are happy to transfer the domain to Reliance without any payments or deals as rumored online. They are also adding that there is no pressure from anyone. You can check out their video below.
