Reliance hosted its 48th annual general meeting, where the company announced several exciting announcements. One of them is the new voice search assistant for the very popular online streaming platform. JioHotstar and the new search assistant is called Riya. The online streaming platform JioHotstar was merged with JioCinema in November 2024 and now Jio has introduced the new search assistant on the board. Riya is a voice-enabled search assistant and the same supports natural language queries. So you can ask to find shows and movies based on genre, year of release, number of seasons, and total episodes.
Apart from Riya, the company has also announced three more features. The next one is called the Voice Print, and it has the power of artificial intelligence to provide real-time voice translation. It is said that this particular feature is meant for sports content and other entertainment formats in foreign languages. This particular feature will be using voice cloning and lip-sync technology to dub the audio in multiple Indian languages.
The company has also announced a new a visual personalisation feature dubbed JioLenZ and it will be adjusting and customising how the content appears on the stream. This feature will be adding scores as the overlay, switch language, view commentary tracks as pop-outs, and more.
Finally, JioHotstar is also rolling out the new MaxView 3.0 feature and it is building on the existing experience system for cricket matches watched on smartphones. The new setup will be offering better aligned live scorecards, camera angles, and highlights to a vertical video stream for smartphones.
