Now the company has officially confirmed that the platform was hacked this month.
It is reported that an unauthorized party gained access to portions of the LastPass development environment and they’ve taken portions of source code and some proprietary LastPass technical information.
The company has said that it has deployed containment and needful measures. It is also revealed that the company has collaborated with a leading cybersecurity and forensics firm and the investigation about the problem is going on.
LastPass says that there is no evidence that the issue has involved with the data of the customers as well as encrypted password vaults.
It is also revealed that there is no problem with Master passwords and LastPass never stores or has knowledge of its users’ Master Passwords. It is worth mentioning that LastPass utilizes an industry-standard Zero Knowledge architecture.
