At the start of the year, we had reported that LG went back to the drawing board for its next flagship. Recently a lot rumors around the next flagship, expectedly called the LG G7 has been surfacing online. With all the images surfacing around it can now be confirmed that the LG G7 (if that is what the next flagship is named) is likely to have an iPhone X like notch.
Reports have also claimed that LG’s upcoming smartphone has been codenamed “Judy”. Along with another report which has been floating around another upcoming handset, said to be codenamed LG Neo. These are not official leaks from LG and are third-party concept renders developed by designer Ben Geskin.
The image above gives a clear picture of LG’s next device codenamed Judy: an all-screen display with a notch at the top. There’s a fingerprint reader on the back underneath a dual camera setup. This would make LG just another smartphone company to follow Apple’s design.
However, If this device is indeed the next flagship, I would be very much disappointed with the Korean tech giant. After all the news we heard during the MWC 2018 about them going back to basics to give a fresh design for the next flagship gave many hopes that the company would be taking the Blue Ocean strategy and developing something unique that would set it apart from other phones.
The renders show the 2018 flagship from the front and back in various settings. On the front side, the smartphone will have a full-screen display. It sports a thin chin at the bottom bezel but the top bezel goes right up to the edge. The notch will be present to include the camera and sensors. Additionally, LG is reportedly planning on placing the notification bar to the left and right side of the screen.

The rear end of the LG smartphone shows a dual-camera setup with two-tone LED flash and laser autofocus. Underneath, there is a home button which also acts as a fingerprint scanner. The G7, which is said to sport a 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1440×3120 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
The leaked images also claims that the notch with be present on the handset. Other rumoured features include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 4GB/ 6GB RAM, 64GB/ 128GB inbuilt storage, and a 3000mAh battery.
Only time will tell if the device shown above is actually the next LG Flagship. Hopefully they come up with something more interesting than this.
