MacBook Air 2022 To Have New M2 Chip Inside

Apple recently launched their new MacBook Pro line-up with 14 & 16 Inch displays. This is a much needed and a big upgrade from their predecessors. Main highlight is the new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. And right before the launch, we got a rumour about the upcoming MacBook Air. And today we got another one.

According to this new report, the upcoming MacBook Air will have a brand new M2 chip. It will be an upgrade from already very powerful M1 chip, but it won’t be as powerful as M1 Pro/Max series. That’s because the MacBook Air series is not catered to power hungry users, it’s more for casual usage with premium built & stable OS.

And just like the current MacBook Air M1, the upcoming model also won’t have air fan. So the M2 will also be more power efficient. And that’s why the M1 Pro/Max will be more powerful than M2. Apart from this, the design will also be changed from current model. It might get similar changes to latest MacBook Pro, like Notch on display and full sized keyboard without touch bar.
