The newly announced Helio G80 chipset supports Full HD+ display with 2520 x 1080 pixels resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio with a 60Hz refresh rate. It is based on 12nm TSMC FinFET technology and the same is offered with two ARM Cortex-A75 and six Cortex-A55 CPUs. The chipset is coming with the support of up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x, Mali-G52 2EEMC2 graphics processor and that is capable to offer speeds of up to 950 MHz. It is also coming with in-house HyperEngine game technology and that’s meant to boost the gaming experience.
Talking about the camera, the chip is capable to offer a 48 MP single camera and multi-camera combinations, dual-ISP design and AI facial detection along with the power to accelerate AI-camera applications, as well as a single/dual camera bokeh effect, EIS, and multi-frame noise reduction (MFNR), it also supports the Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) engine and more. The same also offers 2K video playback at 30fps and full-HD video playback at 60fps.
Regarding the connectivity options, this chipset supports Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0, and Dual 4G VoLTE along with GPS + GLONASS, Beidou + Galileo, and FM Radio.
Well, the specification details of the new processor suggest that the company has fitted it in between Helio G70 and G90 and the new processor is offering the features closer to the G70 processor.
