MediaTek is one of the very popular player in the mobile chipset making segment and the company has announced its new processor at its Executive Virtual Summit 2020 and the company has unveiled the latest MediaTek Dimensity 700, and the same is based on 7nm 5G chipset and that will be available for “mass-market” smartphones. Alongside the latest Dimensity SoC, the company has launched two new chipsets for Chromebooks and that is the MT8195 and the MT8192. Specifications of MediaTek Dimensity 700
The latest MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC comes with two high-performance ARM Cortex-A76 cores, along with six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. The chip is also coming with the capability of up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and the same supports UFS 2.2 two-lane storage, along with up to 1Gbps transfer speeds. It also supports Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
It also supports full-HD+ display and the same will offer up to 90Hz refresh rate. Talking about the camera department, the latest chip coming with the capability of up to 64-megapixel primary camera sensors, along with artificial intelligence (AI) camera enhancements, such as AI bokeh as well as AI colour and beauty features.
Regarding the connectivity options, MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC comes with a 5G modem, dual-5G SIM support, and the same also includes MediaTek 5G UltraSave that is touted to intelligently manage the operating mode of the 5G modem to enhance battery life.
The latest MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC also features the multiple voice assistant including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Baidu DuerOS, among others. There is also support for Voice over New Radio (VoNR) services.
Specifications of MediaTek MT8192, MT8195
Alongside the MediaTek Dimensity 700, MediaTek unveiled the MT8192 and MT8195 SoCs and the same meant for Chromebooks. The MT8192 is based on 7nm and the same is for the mainstream Chromebook models, while the MT8195 is based on 6nm and that is for the premium versions.
Both chipsets come with an AI processing unit (APU) and the same will support voice- and vision-based apps. The APU is coming with the voice ID recognition and voice control, speech and image recognition, speech to text, live translation, object recognition, background removal, noise reduction, image and video segmentation, gesture control, and Google AR Core-based enhancements.
The latest chips – MT8192 and MT8195 features a dedicated audio digital signal processor (DSP), an HDR image signal processor (HDR-ISP) has been provided and the same also features a hardware depth engine to support up to 8-megapixel, four-cell cameras and also support a single 32-megapixel camera or dual 16-megapixel cameras.
It also supports 4K HDR video decoding along with Dolby Vision, 7.1 surround sound audio, and a Codec AV1 hardware video accelerator. It also features PCI-Express Gen 3 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 support.
The chips are also capable to support the wide quad high definition (WQHD) displays with standard 60Hz refresh rate or full-HD+ displays with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The MT8192 also supports two full-HD displays simultaneously.
