After introducing the new MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G SoC in November last year, the company has finally announced it officially for the mid-range smartphones. With the new chipset, smartphone manufacturers can able to bring the next generation telecommunication chip on the mid-range smartphones and it will make it even more powerful. So, without wasting any time let’s dive into the article to check out the complete details of the new MediaTek processor.
The MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G SoC is built on the 7nm process, just like the Dimensity 1000, but the 800 SoC comes with four Cortex-A76 cores operating up to 2.0 GHz and four power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores operating at up to 2.0 GHz.
MediaTek didn’t reveal anything about the GPU model but it does says that the Dimensity 1000-class GPU, will be combined with MediaTek gaming technology and that is dubbed as the HyperEngine. The latest SoC also supports 5G two carrier aggregation (2CC CA) for 30% wider high-speed layer coverage.
Furthermore, it is also capable for the stand alone and non-stand alone (SA/NSA) sub-6GHz networks and the same also supports multi-mode. The new SoC also supports MediaTek AI Processing Unit, APU 3.0, and that claims to offer more than double the performance of the previous generation APU. Talking about other departments, the chipset will support up to 64 MP cameras sensors or large multi-camera options such as 32 + 16 MP dual cameras.
