The popular mobile chipset maker MediaTek has officially confirmed that it is collaborating with TSMC and the company will be launching its first ever chipset with 3nm process. The upcoming MediaTek Dimensity mobile processor is using TSMC’s 3nm process and the mass production of the processor will be starting from next year.
With the help of new 3nm process technology, the chipset can provide around a 60% increase in logic density and an 18% speed boost at constant power or a 32% reduction in power consumption. The comparison is over the 5nm process.
The chipset maker will be integrating the processor into various devices such as smartphones, tablets, and smart vehicles. The chipset will go in mass production next year and it will be available in the market by the second half of next year.
