Well, now the company has officially announced a new chipset called the MediaTek Kompanio 1380 and the same is meant for the premium segment of Chromebooks. MediaTek has introduced its latest MediaTek Kompanio 1380 with the capability of high performance and low power consumption and the company offers the chipset with an octa-core CPU with four high-performance Arm Cortex-A78 cores with speeds up to 3GHz.
The chipset also features a five-core Arm Mali-G57 GPU and that is claimed to support fast and vivid visuals, it is also coming with a multi-core AI processor that accelerates AI-camera and AI-voice applications.
MediaTek Kompanio 1380 is also capable for up to two 4K 60Hz displays, or one 4K 60Hz display plus two 4K 30Hz displays. With A1 Hardware Decoding, it will also support 4K videos along with a dedicated audio digital signal processor (DSP) and the same will offer an ultra-low-power voice on wakeup (VoW) capabilities for voice assistants.
It is also confirmed that the upcoming Acer Chromebook Spin 513 will be the first device to arrive with the power of the latest MediaTek Kompanio 1380 chipset. Speaking about the availability of the device, the device will be available from the month of June this year.
