MediaTek, the Taiwanese company who is very popular in the smartphone industry. The company powers-up lots of devices and it gives head-to-head competition with many big guns like Snapdragon and more. Well, today the company has announced its latest flagship processor and that is called Helio P90. The company has announced the new processor by skipping P80, and it is said that the new processor is four times more powerful than its predecessor i.e. Helio P70, especially in the department of AI.
Everything About Helio P90:
In the latest Helio P90, MediaTek has done the improvements in camera as well as AI-engine capabilities. The company claims that the new flagship processor can able to give outstanding camera features, better battery life, and improved artificial intelligence capability. The new Helio P90 is powered by 2.0 GHz Octa Core processor and bearing two ARM Cortex-A75 cores, that’s not all, there would be six ARM Cortex A55 with 2.0 GHz, and the setup is done in big.LITTE configuration. Moreover, the new processor is supported by the PowerVR GM 9446 GPU.
Furthermore, the chip is coming with a CorePilot Technology patented by MediaTek, which is said to ensure processing is done in the most possible efficient way. The new Helio P90 is also capable to support 2-channel 1866MHz LPDDRx RAM (up to 8GB) and 21:9 aspect ratio full HD+ displays. Regarding the photography department, it will support three image signal processors (ISPs). It will support 48 megapixel single lens sensor or 24 megapixel + 16 megapixel dual camera setup. That said, the ISP AI engine is believed to offer accurate face and scene detection in real-time and even in low-light and motion conditions.
Talking about the AI, which is the most upgraded area of the new processor, it features a new APU 2.0 fusion AI architecture, which will allow the new processor to support complex AI experiences such as human pose detection and that can track different body motion. In terms of availability, at this moment we don’t have a proper timeline but the new processor is expected to power new smartphones by the first quarter of 2019.
