So after a lot of leaks and rumours from past few weeks, Xiaomi announced two new smartphones under their Meitu brand, Mi CC9, and Mi CC9E. Back in November Xiaomi acquired Meitu brand in China, and now both these are first smartphone line-up in this new partnership of resources from two different OEMs. Meitu was a selfie camera app developer before, so their resources will be reflected in the front camera performance. So without wasting any more time, let’s see what these two smartphones have inside.
Mi CC9 –
Starting with Mi CC9, this one sports a 6.39 inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340×1080) resolution and 403 ppi. It has 19.5:9 aspect ratio with water drop notch design, along with 600 nits of brightness. It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710e octa core processor clocked at 2.3Ghz, along with Adreno 616 GPU. Gaming performance is more optimised on this 710e as compared to other similar processors. It has 6GB of RAM with 64/128GB storage options, and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage.
Speaking about the camera, this one has a triple camera sensor at the back. The Primary one is 48MP Sony sensor with f/1.8 lens and 1.6μ sensor. The secondary one is an 8MP telephoto sensor with 2X optical zoom, 8X hybrid zoom, and f/2.4 lens. Lastly, the third one is 2MP wide-angle sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front there is 32MP camera with advanced AI functionalities, Xiaomi’s own AR Emoji, named as Mimoji. We are expecting some good selfies because of Meitu’s software processing.

This device runs on latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with MIUI 10 on top. It packs in a 4030mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The fingerprint sensor is placed below the display. It has glass back with designer finish, which changes the colour shade by tilting the phone. For connectivity, it has 4G, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, aptX HD, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Type-C port. It weighs at 179 grams and 8.7mm. It comes with White, Black, and Blue colour options.
Mi CC9E –
This Mi CC9E is the smaller version of Mi CC9. It sports smaller 6 inch AMOLED display with lowered down 1560×720 resolution. It also comes with slightly low powered Snapdragon 665 processor, but still it’s very powerful. It has 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 64/128GB storage. Rest all the specifications and design are the same here.
Mi CC9 Meitu Edition –

This is the special edition of Mi CC9 with Meitu Camera features and resources. It has special features for vloggers, like enhanced video stabilization, movie portrait, improved low light portrait, and full body filters. And we can expect better normal selfies as well. It has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. It will come only with one special Pearl White colour option. Rest of the specs are same as Mi CC9.
