Just a couple of hours ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 operating system for the Microsoft Insiders to test the operating system on their devices and a developer successfully installed the operating system on a Microsoft smartphone which is very old.
The developer Gustave Monce installed Windows 11 on the Lumia 950 XL and the decade old smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon series chipset that does have ARM-based support. It is said that the operating system worked on the smartphone without major issues.
It is also said that the smartphone did lag a bit while opening certain apps

As of now, Microsoft has confirmed that the all-new Windows 11 can run on the computers running Intel 8th generation chipsets and AMD Zen 2 chipsets or higher, and on Qualcomm 7 and 8 Series devices. It also supports ARM-based devices including smartphones and other ARM-based gadgets.
