Lenovo owned brand Motorola has just launched a new series of smartphones under its “Edge” series. There is total three smartphones in this series, and all offers midrange to value flagship specs. These are Motorola Edge 20, Edge 20 Pro, and Edge 20 Lite. Their names clearly suggest what position each smartphone have in between them. So, without further ado, let’s look at Motorola Edge 20 series.
Motorola Edge 20:
Starting off with the vanilla version, the Motorola Edge 20 sports a 6.7-inch Full HD 10-bit OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. It has support for HDR10+, but has an outdated Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778 5G processor, built on 6nm process. For graphics it has Adreno 642L GPU. For storage there’s option of 8GB RAM with 128/256GB internal storage.
In terms of Camera, there’s 108MP main sensor with f1.9 lens and PDAF. Then there’s 16MP ultrawide lens with 119° FOV. The third sensor is an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, PDAF, and OIS. On the front there’s 32MP shooter with f2.3 lens. Video recording from rear camera is supported up to 4K at 30fps, and 1080p at 30fps for the front. Don’t know about ultrawide video recording yet.
The Edge 20 runs on Android 11 out of the box with My UX UI on top. This is a China only skin on Motorola smartphones. The global variant (not announced yet) will have stock clean UI. It packs in a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It has under display fingerprint sensor with option of face unlock as well. For connectivity it has 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and Type-C port. It weighs at just 163 grams and is 7mm thin. It comes with Frosted Onyx and Frosted Pearl color options.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro:
Now comes the premium most device in today’s launch, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro sports the same display as the vanilla one. In processor, it has one of the most popular chipsets of this year, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 5G processor, built on 7nm process, and has Adreno 650 GPU. For storage there’s 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage.
In terms of Camera, everything is same as the Edge 20, just the telephoto lens has 5x optical zoom option. It also runs on Android 11 out of the box with My UX UI on top. It packs in a 4,500mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It has under display fingerprint sensor with option of face unlock as well. No difference in connectivity options and ports. It weighs at just 185/190 grams and is 8mm thin. 185 grams for Midnight Blue and Iridescent Cloud (Glass) colors, and 190 grams for Blue Vegan Leather color.
Motorola Edge 20 Lite:
Lastly, it’s the cheapest one of all. The Motorola Edge 20 Lite sports the 6.7-inch Full HD 10-bit display with lower 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It has MediaTek’s brand new Dimensity 720 processor, built on 7nm process, and has Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. For storage there’s 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage.
In terms of Camera, the main one is same 108MP sensor. The ultrawide angle lens goes down to 8MP sensor, and then the telephoto is replaced by customer’s most demanded, most useful, and most unique, the great, the big “2MP DEPTH SENSOR”.
It also runs on Android 11 out of the box with My UX UI on top. It packs in the biggest 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It has under display fingerprint sensor with option of face unlock as well. No difference in connectivity options and ports. It weighs at just 185 grams and is 8.3mm thin. It comes with Electric Graphite and Lagoon Green color options.

- Motorola Edge 20 Lite starts at €349.99 (₹30,900 approx.)
- Motorola Edge 20 Pro starts at €699.99 (₹61,800 approx.)
- Sales will begin from next month in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Middle East.
- No exact price and date for each country is available as of now.
So that’s the new Motorola Edge 20 series. Indians, if you think that this is overpriced, then do remember that Indian price translated from European price is always too high.
