From past few days, we witnessed a lot of leaks and rumours of Moto G7 lineup. Now today, Motorola officially unveiled the series. This year we have expectations from Motorola that they will adrenaline their Moto g lineup like before. This year also Motorola unveiled a total of four Moto G smartphones, instead of making just 2 smartphones but excellent for their price. So has Motorola kept our expectations or failed this year as well? let’s find out.

Moto G7:
This is probably the most balanced smartphone amongst all. This Moto G7 sport 6.2 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD Display with 2270×1080 resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 405 ppi. It has waterdrop notch design, but still with relatively thicker bottom bezel as compared to other waterdrop notch smartphones. Also it has Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both front and back. It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632 octa core processor clocked at 1.8Ghz that’s built on 14nm process along with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage along with expandable storage. On Camera it has dual rear camera setup, one has 12MP sensor with f1.8 lens, 1.25µm pixel size and EIS. The secondary camera is a 5MP depth sensor with f2.2 lens. It can record videos up to 4K at 30fps. On front there is an 8MP camera with 1.12µm pixel size.
Coming to the software, this Moto G7 runs on latest Android Pie out of the box, without any bloated skin. It packs in a 3000mAh battery with 15W TurboPower charging and Quick Charge 4 and USB Power Supply 3 support. The fingerprint sensor is located on Moto Dimple at backside. For protection it has P2i nano coating for water-repellence. For sound it has Dolby Audio support. For connectivity it has Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2, 4G VoLTE, aptX audio, GPS, FM Radio and Type-C port. It weights at 172 grams and is 8mm thick. There are two color options : Ceramic Black and Clear White.

Moto G7 Plus:
It is a slight upgrade from Moto G7, but has upgrades in important parts. Like it has slightly powerful Snapdragon 636 octa core processor clocked at 1.8Ghz with Adreno 509 GPU. The Camera on the G7 Plus is also a lot better. The primary rear camera is a 16MP sensor with f1.7 lens, 1.22µm pixel size and OIS. It can record videos up to 4K at 30fps. Secondary camera is the same 5MP depth sensor. On the front it has 12MP sensor with 1.25µm pixel size and front portrait. It has the faster charging method of Motorola, the 27W TurboPower charging with support of QC4 and USB PS 3 as well. It would be better if Motorola had given at least 3500mAh battery for this much fast charging. Unlike all other Moto G7 devices, it has stereo speakers, of course with Dolby Audio support. For connectivity it has advancement that it has Bluetooth 5 support. It comes in Deep Indigo and Viva Red color options. Rest other specs are same as Moto G7.

Moto G7 Power:
As the name suggests, this is the most power packed smartphone amongst all Moto G7. So let’s talk about it’s USP first i.e. battery. It packs the huge 5000mAh battery capacity, which is largest amongst all Moto G7 smartphones. But we are disappointed to see only 15W fast charging on this device, instead of 27W fast charging that’s used in Moto G7 Plus. Because this G7 Power needs that fast charging more. It has the same processor as Moto G7, the Snapdragon 632. But it will be a bit better in terms of performance than Moto G7, because it cuts down to 720p+ display i.e. 1570×720 resolution. This leads the ppi to 279 only. It has 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a big notch design. It lacks the Dolby Audio support. It comes in Ceramic Black, Marine Blue, and Ice Violet color options. Rest of the specifications are same as Moto G7.

Moto G7 Play:
This is the least feature packed device amongst all, but at the same time it’s most affordable as compared to other Moto G7 devices as well. It has relatively smallest display size of 5.7 inch with 1570×720 HD+ resolution, 294 ppi. But it has Gorilla Glass 3 protection on front only, as the back is made up of plastic. It has just 2GB of RAM with 32GB internal storage, with expandable storage. It has single 13MP Rear Camera with f2.0 lens and 1.12µm pixel size. On the front there is 8MP sensor with f2.2 lens and 1.12µm pixel size. It has just 10W fast charging support, which is lowest between all other Moto G7 devices. It has Deep Indigo, Fine Gold, and Starry Black color options. Rest of the specifications are same as Moto G7.
Pricing & Availability:
- Moto G7 costs EUR 250 (INR 20,232)

So that’s all the information we have as of now. Personally speaking none of these are performance-oriented smartphone, because the highest end Moto G7 Plus has Snapdragon 636 processor, which was present in Redmi Note 5 Pro last year. Now all we can pray is for sensible pricing and good software support for these devices. What are your thoughts on this Moto G7 series ? Let us know in the comment section below.
