Are you on the lookout for a new gaming PC set? If you are, you might looking for a pre-assembled complete set that you can take back home. It seems like a lot less hassle, like a lot less research, and just simpler. That’s what a lot of people choose to do.
However, I would highly recommend that instead of just buying a complete PC set, you invest time in doing some research and get yourself a custom PC gaming set. This means that you look at each aspect of your PC, be it the CPU, the monitor, the keyboard, whatever, and you buy the parts separately. This requires a lot of work and a lot of research, however there are several reasons why this would be a lot more beneficial to you in the long run.
Advantages of assembling your own PC
- Better Performance, Lower Price
If you assemble your own computer, and if you’re smart about it, you can go away with a far better performing computer for the same amount of money. Retailers that sell you assembled gaming computer sets tend to shoot up their prices the moment they attach the word “gaming” to it, even if it doesn’t perform all that powerfully anyway. If you buy all your own hardware separately, you can avoid getting scammed.
- Take What you Need
If you assemble your own set, you can look into purchasing individual parts based on your specific needs. If you want to focus more on the quality of the monitor, and less on the speakers, that’s totally your call. You’re the boss of your gaming station. No one else.
- Fetch the Best Warranties
If you buy a pre-built PC, then the entire set and all of its parts come with a One-Year warranty. This means that even if something as small as the mouse malfunctions, you have to send the whole PC back, and you’ve used up your warranty. However, if you buy the parts individually, each of the parts will come with their own warranties, and that too for longer 2-3 year periods.
- Highly Upgradeable
Pre-built PCs aren’t very upgradeable. The retailers build them in such a way that if you want to upgrade one part of your PC set, you’ll have to upgrade several others as well. This is how they make money. However, if you assemble your own PC, you can change any individual part of your PC whenever you want to!
So these are all some of the basic reasons for why you should assemble your very own PC set. If you’re wondering about what are the individual parts you need, how much they cost, etc, you can read all about it in this Infographic designed by Gaming Chair Insider. It will give you budget recommendations for the different parts of your PC.

So now that you know all you need to make your own own PC set, start shopping!
