From the past few years, we have seen a huge growth of high power processors in smartphones. Now we are getting some very powerful processors even in mid-range smartphones. So what’s next? Is only the power game will continue in processors. Well, not only the power will increase, but efficiency too. We are already seeing OEMs going for power efficiency in their processors by building them on less space. We have seen processors from past two years that are building on 14nm process, and from last year even 10nm process. So now it’s the time to look forward in this direction.
Qualcomm won't say it, but their contractors do. Snapdragon 855 (SDM855) is the first 7nm SoC. (probably the one the X24 modem ends up in) pic.twitter.com/Ot1J34fQoG

We got a new report which claims that Qualcomm is currently developing the First ever chipset which is built on 7nm processor. It will be the successor of this year’s high-end SoC i.e. Snapdragon 845 processor. So Qualcomm will launch this First 7nm processor next year i.e. in 2019. According to the report, this processor will be named as Snapdragon 855 processor (SDM855). So we got the name of next Qualcomm’s flagship processor before the current processor is available in flagships. Also, this processor will be the first processor to support Qualcomm’s X24 modem which will bring 5G support.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. We will probably see this new processor first on Galaxy S10 or whatever the name would be. Also, Samsung might launch their next Exynos processor too based on 7nm process. Now, what are your thoughts on this processor? Do share your thoughts in the comments below.
