In 2017 itself, Nokia has released their smartphone in a wide range. It starts from a budget and goes up to the flagship. It has multiple series like Nokia 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Talking about 2018, there are strong rumours that they will launch Nokia 9 smartphone which will be a very high-end smartphone, even higher than Nokia 8. But seems like they are adding their line-up in entry-level segment as well, along with the latest software.
According to a new rumour, Nokia might launch an Android Go powered smartphone i.e. Nokia 1. It will be an entry-level smartphone that’s powered by Android Go OS. For those who don’t know what this Android Go is, it is a lighter version of Android that will work on entry-level devices which has low-end specs. Coming back to Nokia 1, this phone might become first smartphone that’s powered by Android Go. As it is an Android Go device don’t expect much in terms of specs. Predicted specs are 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and Snapdragon 200 series or any lower end MediaTek processor. Also, the display will have a 720p resolution or maybe just 480p. This device is expected to launch in March this year and should be priced below 80-100 dollars.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. This phone is generally for those who have a very tight budget or for areas that are lacking good connectivity and new technologies, in-short undeveloped or developing areas.
