Microsoft really wants to give a composition with Google, as the tech giant gives ability to its digital assistant Cortana to set as default personal assistant on your Android device.
With the latest update to the Cortana v2.8, you can now make it as your default personal assistant can be replace the built-in Google Assistant. Actually the ability to set Cortana as default assistant, was available since 2015. But the developers currently specifies the feature in the latest update, it maybe because now it will be more easier and effective.
Once things are set up, then long press the home shortcut then you will see Cortana pops-up in place of Google Assistant. You will get all the features which you get from Cortana in-app. All of the same actions can carry over to your PC, so you can get one assistant cross platform. With this you will get notification of missed calls on your desktop or laptop and reminders created on your PC can be triggered on your smartphone.
Other than this, the Google Play Store listing says that the update brings improvement in the ‘calendar consistency across PC and phone’. As well as improvements to the performance of app in general, Google Play Store says the update has gone live. Which means if you have installed the app, you can update the app once it hit your device.
