Nvidia has announced the release of some older graphics cards to offer more affordable options in the market. In keeping with that promise, the company has re-launched the GeForce RTX 2060, which now features 12GB of VRAM.
At a time when the world is experiencing a global shortage of chipsets / semiconductors, Team Green has unveils its much-anticipated RTX 3000 series. However, the lack of supply of scrapers and crypto miners that this GPU buys en masse means that ordinary gamers and other consumers will not be able to pick up new cards. It even raised the market price of old cards and the second hand market.
But for now, these old cards may help alleviate this problem, as scalperes and crypto miners are likely to stay away from this low-cost graphics card.
The new RTX 2060 will be available from December 7, 2021, and comes with a few bump-up specifications and features. This includes a higher base clock speed and a slightly higher number of CUDA cores, and the new model has 2,176 more features than the original 1,920.
In some ways, the updated RTX 2060 SUPER is better than the base 2060 from the previous generation. Another notable difference is the VRAM, which is now 12GB, which is higher than the high end RTX 3070 and RTX 3080.
This could be a “premium” upgrade to the RTX 2060. Unfortunately, Nvidia has not yet officially revealed the pricing details of this GPU. However, the RTX 2060, launched in 2019, retailed for $ 349. So, we can expect a similar price tag.
