A few days back OnePlus released their Software Maintenance Schedule for all OnePlus devices, where the complete information of software support of a OnePlus device is mentioned. The company also mentioned that both OnePlus 3/3T will get their last Open Beta update later this week but it got postponed. Now today they finally released the last Open Beta update of OnePlus 3/3T. So let’s have a look into the same.
This is the Open Beta 39/30 update for OnePlus 3/3T respectively. This update brings changes in launcher, camera, and multimedia section. The launcher got tweaks like improved search tags in app drawer, ‘New Install’ tag, and improved app list in hidden space and toolbox. The camera transition between front & rear camera is also improved, and that’s actually noticeable. Lastly, both devices got AAC audio format support. This update is sized at just 67MB. Below is the changelog of this update :

As this is the last Open Beta update for OnePlus 3/3T, I was personally expecting a bigger update with a bunch of new features and also the Android 8.1, as promised earlier. But the update is so small and the changelog is not impressive at all. Though OnePlus didn’t mention anything about bug fix and stability, I experienced the same.
After using this update for few hours on OnePlus 3, I personally feel that this is one of the most stable Open Beta update. Also, the sound from in-built speakers is also a bit louder. Seems like OnePlus wants to give a good farewell to all Open Beta users.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. As OnePlus said before, both devices will get a stable update very soon, so that all Open Beta users can finally shift to stable built. If you are a OnePlus 3/3T user, what were your expectations from this last Open Beta update? And what’s your initial experience of this update? Do share your thoughts in the comment section below.
