Even though the Android 9.0 Pie released several months back, only a very minor percentage of smartphones are officially running on the latest Android version. Apart from Google, OnePlus is one of the most prominent OEM to provide faster Android updates. They proved it by giving Android Pie update to OnePlus 6 two months back and to OnePlus 5/5T on Christmas. Now they just need to fulfill one more promise to their older users and there update target will be settled down as of now.
If you recall back in July, OnePlus announced that both second generation old devices i.e. OnePlus 3/3T will get the taste of Android 9.0 Pie. They mentioned that both OnePlus 3/3T will get the update after OnePlus 6/5T/5 will get Android Pie update. And as all these three devices got the Pie update, it’s time for OnePlus 3/3T. No, OnePlus hasn’t released Android Pie update for these two devices, but we have a leak regarding the same. So let’s have a look at it..
Both OnePlus 3 and 3T are spotted on Geekbench benchmarking service, running Android 9.0 Pie. This is a sign that the Pie update for OnePlus 3/3T is on it’s way, just a couple of days or weeks away. As per my guess, the update should roll-out by the end of January, because in february OnePlus will celebrate Chinese New Year. Most probably they will roll-out the update few days before the festival, so that if there will be any major bug in the update, the software team will immediately release an hotfix update.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. As me too own a OnePlus 3, I am waiting for the third major Android update for my device, because except Pixel smartphones not everyone witness third official Android update.
