The much anticipated OnePlus 6T is around the corner and we can expect the unveiling of the device anytime in this month, but the rumoured date is October 17. The company already confirmed that the device will not have the 3.5 mm headphone jack in last month, Well, today we got another information and that is about the wireless charging capability, as it is officially confirmed that the device will not have such ability.
In an interview with CNET, the OnePlus, CEO Pete Lau, shared the reason of ditching the headphone jack. Lau said that the headphone jack is removed for the in-display fingerprint scanner, as it will give more space to achieve the innovative technology.
Furthermore, he also confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 6T will not have the wireless charging support. We don’t know the actual reason behind this, but the company may don’t want to consider such set up in its devices, as the company’s own Dash Charging technology charges very quickly and it offers up to 20W power output.
Apart from this, there is also information which says that the device will not have the IP certification. However, the OnePlus 6 was advertised as water resistant but it does not talk about IP. That said, a teardown video revealed that the device has the required protection to resist water. But there is no such information are coming for the OnePlus 6T, and that is little disappointing stuff. We still believe that the company will bring some kind of protection in the upcoming OnePlus 6T just like its predecessor.
So, that’s all the information we have at this moment. We will believe that the company will unveil the device very soon, we recommend you to stay tuned to the TechnoBugg for the latest updates at your fingertips.
