From the past few weeks, we were eagerly waiting for the launch of one of the most awaited smartphone of the year, OnePlus 7. We came to know that OnePlus will also launch another higher end model this time. Now today OnePlus officially announced both new flagships, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. Despite knowing almost all the specs, let’s go through them with the ‘official’ tag.
OnePlus 7:
Let’s start with the regular OnePlus 7, this smartphone is an incremental upgrade to OnePlus 6T that was launched in late 2018. This smartphone sports a 6.2 inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340×1080) resolution and 416 ppi. The screen to body ratio is 19.5:9, is DCI P3 supported, and is protected with Gorilla Glass 6 on top. It comes with latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 octa core processor clocked at 2.8Ghz that’s built on 7nm process. For graphic intensive tasks it has Adreno 640 GPU. This devices comes with 6/8GB and 128/256GB storage configuration respectively. The ROM is UFC 3.0, which is one of the fastest in any smartphone as of now.
Talking about the camera, now it comes with an improved primary 48MP Sony IMX356 sensor with f1.8 lens, OIS, and PDAF. The secondary camera is a 5MP with f2.4 lens. It can record videos up to 4K at 60fps. The front camera is a 16MP sensor with f2.0 lens and EIS.
This smartphone comes with latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with OxygenOS 9 on top. It packs in a 3700mAh battery with 20W Fast Charging technology. It has in-display fingerprint sensor. It has dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. OnePlus also improved the vibration motor. For connectivity it has dual 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and Type-C port. It weighs at 160 grams and is 8.1mm thin. It comes with Mirro Grey and Red colour options.
OnePlus 7 Pro:
Now let’s talk about the higher end model and more awaited smartphone as compared to regular model, the OnePlus 7 Pro. It sports a 6.67 inch AMOLED display with QuadHD+ (3120×1440) resolution and 516ppi. This is the first QuadHD display for a OnePlus device till now. But this is not the only new thing, this display has a refresh rate of 90hz, which is very fluid to experience while using the phone and especially while gaming. This display has HDR10+ support that raises the brightness to whopping 800 nits. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9 and it has Gorilla Glass 6 protection on top.
It comes with latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 octa core processor clocked at 2.8Ghz that’s built on 7nm process. For graphic intensive tasks it has Adreno 640 GPU. This devices comes with 6GB RAM for 128GB storage and 8/12GB RAM with 256GB storage configuration. The ROM is UFC 3.0, which is one of the fastest in any smartphone as of now. For better heat management, it has liquid cooling system as well. And for lossless gaming it has the new FNATIC mode, which optimises the smartphone for seemless gaming experience.
Talking about the camera, this time OnePlus went with a triple camera setup at the back. The primary one is a 48MP Sony IMX356 sensor with f1.6 lens, PDAF, Laser Autofocus, and OIS. Secondary one is a 16MP wide angle (117°) sensor with f2.4 lens. Lastly the third one is an 8MP Telephoto lens with 3X optical Zoom and f2.0 lens, PDAF, and OIS. It can record videos up to 4K at 60fps. For the front it has 16MP pop-up camera with f2.0 lens and EIS.
This smartphone comes with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with OxygenOS 9 on top. This new OxygenOS has a lot of new features like screen recording with internal audio, improved gaming mode, It packs in a 4000mAh battery with 30W Warp Charging technology. In-display fingerprint sensor is obviously present here. It has dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. OnePlus also improved the vibration motor.
For connectivity it has dual 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, aptX HD, and Type-C port. It comes with Mirror Grey, Nebula Blue, and Almond colour options.
OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2:
OnePlus also launched the successor of last year’s Bullet Wireless, the Bullet Wireless 2. It comes with aptX HD support and improved sound quality over the last generation earphone. The built quality of this is slightly changed.

So that’s all the information we have as of now. Personally speaking, both smartphones are good for the asking price. But the OnePlus 7 Pro is clearly the show stealer this time in terms of features. OnePlus again nailed it with the extra features they are giving for that extra price. And faith in OnePlus’s pricing is again restored with OnePlus 7, which is actually cheaper than OnePlus 6T.
But the Bullets Wireless 2 are extremely overpriced earphones for the asking price. Even now the 1st generation Bullets Wireless is not much good value for the price, and now this 2nd generation has even more insane price.
